I was tagged by Ugnė @My Passion is Happiness and Jessica @Pore Over the Pages to do the This or That Tag. Thank you both! Be sure to check out their answers and blogs 🙂
RULES
1. Mention the creator of the tag (Ayunda @Tea and Paperbacks).
2. Thank the blogger who tagged you!
3. Choose one out of the two options. (You don’t have to explain why you chose what you did… only if you wanted to!)
4. Tag 10 other people to do this tag to spread the love!
1. Reading on the couch or on the bed?
My bed is my reading spot because I don’t get bothered there. If I’m somewhere else, people talk to me and I have to stop reading.
2. Male main character or female main character?
Female main characters are my favorites because I can relate to them a lot more, but I love reading from different perspectives and not only male, but also genderfluid or agender. I enjoy the representation of diversity.
3. Sweet snacks or salty snacks when reading?
Mostly sweet snacks. Chocolate, raisins, candy…
4. Trilogies or quartets?
Quartets, even though I’ve only read one that I can remember at the moment. I think trilogies tend to fall for the “transitional limbo” with their second novels: The first one introduces the characters and worldbuilding, the second is a filler and the third is when all hell breaks loose. In quartets, I think the plot gets more evenly spread between all novels.
5. First person point of view or third person point of view?
It’s almost a tie, but third person point of view wins. I love an omniscient narrator.
6. Reading at night or in the morning?
At night. It’s when I can fully concentrate on just reading and the house is quiet.
7. Libraries or bookstores?
Bookstores, because libraries are not as fuctional here as in other places.
8. Books that make you laugh or make you cry?
This will sound depressing, but I prefer books that make me cry. They can be happy tears! I love when a book moves me or breaks my heart, it means it made me care. Also, laughing is harder, so maybe that’s why I prefer sad books – they are easier to find.
9. Black book covers or white book covers?
White book covers are so pleasing for me. They look clean and organized.
10. Character driven or plot driven stories?
Character driven stories for sure. I enjoy getting to know a character and follow their story, if not, I’m not that invested in the plot and the book doesn’t mean as much to me.

Thanks for the tag! I’m not a library person, either – my local library has such a poor collection of books 😦

Sure 🙂 And it really does depend on where you live. I’ve seen people getting all the new releases immediately and I get so jealous lol. There’s not a chance that happens where I live, so I depend on bookstores (mainly online bookstores!).

Me too! Thank God for Amazon!

Libraries for me. Our local library isn’t as fabulous as it should be, but ILL is my friend! And I’ll take funny books over sad, and black over white. White gets dingy-looking too fast…

I wish there were cool libraries around here 😦 You are right that white books get ruined pretty easily, but I can’t help and love them anyway 😛

When people talk to you when you read… how dare them? -_-
Makes sense that on your bed people will bother you less.
Sweet snacks… yum! 😀
I get what you mean about trilogies. You’re right about them nostly falling into some sort of pattern. The first book is introductions, the second books is “stuff happens but not really happens” and the third book is the full blown action and explosions.
However, I feel like this it’s beginning to change lately. Or is it just me?
And there she is – tragedy lover Esther. *shudders*. When I read the question of “books that make you laugh or cry?”, I was immediately like: why do I get the feeling she’s going to say cry? ‘^^
Ah, it was really fun reading your answers! (:
And this looks like a very short and very fun tag to do. In my current blogging slump (which is also why I haven’t commented on your latest amazing posts. forgive me :\) It looks like a great post to do. So I’m definitely going to try this tag out ^^

I’ve not read recent trilogies, I think, so I can’t really tell! I do hope that it’s changing because I didn’t enjoy that pattern at all.
I can’t help it Zoey, I’m a drama queen hahaha But I do enjoy fuzzy happy reads too, I just don’t find them that easily. I’m a tragedy magnet!
It’s one of the easiest tags out there and it was so much fun. Please do it! 😀

Thanks for the tag! It’s so sad that libraries here don’t work as well. And there aren’t that many bookstores that carry English books. It’s really frustrating 😕

It truly is. I would love the whole library experience if it worked. It’s so convenient!

I used to love going to the library when I was a kid in the US. I’d get like ten books a week and practically swallow them whole haha

That’s so cool! I would have been the same there. My parents wouldn’t have been able to get me out of a library hahaha
