Book Traveling Thursdays: For book lovers

Every week, Danielle (from Danielle’s Book Blog) and Cátia (from TheGirlWhoReadTooMuch) host a feature called Book Traveling Thursdays on Goodreads. They give you a topic each Thursday and you choose a book that you think fits. Then comes the fun part: a cover showdown! You post the original cover, the cover from your country (which I won’t be doing because the books aren’t published here), and then your favorite and least favorite cover from any edition around the world.

This week’s topic is a book every book lover should read. I had thought of The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, but I had already done that one for the week of “a book I would want to see as a movie or TV show“. So, I went ahead and picked one that I haven’t actually read: Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops by Jen Campbell. I went with this one because I think everyone who loves books also loves bookshops and hearing about these stories must be hilarious! Let’s check out the covers.

You post the original cover, the cover from your country (which I won’t be doing because the books aren’t published here), and then your favorite and least favorite cover from any edition around the world.

This week’s topic is a book you would want to read in a lazy day at home or the beach. For this I decided to go with And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie because it’s a classic of the mystery genre and it’s a very easy and entertaining read. Now, let’s check out the covers!

This week’s topic is a book that features an amazing friendship that matters because the International Day of Friendship is in two days! For this I decided to go with Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Cycle #3)  by Maggie Stiefvater because the friendships are really solid by that book and I truly enjoyed it. Now, let’s check out some covers!

Book Traveling Thursdays: A musical book

Every week, Danielle (from Danielle’s Book Blog) and Cátia (from TheGirlWhoReadTooMuch) host a feature called Book Traveling Thursdays on Goodreads. This week’s topic is a musical book, that is, one in which music plays a big part. I chose The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux because not only is the setting in an Opera house and it features music, but it inspired one of the most popular musicals of all time. Let’s check out the covers!

Book Traveling Thursdays: A sequel I loved

Every week, Danielle (from Danielle’s Book Blog) and Cátia (from TheGirlWhoReadTooMuch) host a feature called Book Traveling Thursdays on Goodreads. They give you a topic each Thursday and you choose a book that you think fits. Then comes the fun part: a cover showdown! You post the original cover, the cover from your country (which I won’t be doing because the books aren’t published here), and then your favorite and least favorite cover from any edition around the world.

This week’s topic is favorite sequel, but I look at it more like a sequel that I loved. I chose The Subtle Knife, from the trilogy His Dark Materials (I talked about the first book here). I really liked the first one, but the second book was were Will, the second main character, was introduced and the story really found its way. Let’s check out the covers!

Book Traveling Thursdays: A book I chose for its cover

Every week, Danielle (from Danielle’s Book Blog) and Cátia (from TheGirlWhoReadTooMuch) host a feature called Book Traveling Thursdays on Goodreads. They give you a topic each Thursday and you choose a book that you think fits. Then comes the fun part: a cover showdown! You post the original cover, the cover from your country (which I won’t be doing because the books aren’t published here), and then your favorite and least favorite cover from any edition around the world.

This week’s topic is a book with an eye candy cover, that is, a book that I read or bought because of its cover.  For this I have to go with The River of No Return by Bee Ridgway, although I also picked it for the plot. I mean, time travel! An entity that controls it! I was sold instantly. In the middle of reading it, I realized it was the first of a series (it’s not known if it’s a duology, trilogy or what). The second has not come out yet and I am becoming impatient. But let’s forget about that for the moment and check some covers out!

Book Traveling Thursdays: A book I want to read this summer

Every week, Danielle (from Danielle’s Book Blog) and Cátia (from TheGirlWhoReadTooMuch) host a feature called Book Traveling Thursdays on Goodreads. They give you a topic each Thursday and you choose a book that you think fits. Then comes the fun part: a cover showdown! You post the original cover, the cover from your country (which I won’t be doing because the books aren’t published here), and then your favorite and least favorite cover from any edition around the world.

This week’s topic is a book I want to read this summer. This one was an easy pick Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Albertalli because I’ve been hearing amazing things about it ever since it came out (pun not intended… well, maybe a little bit intended) and it seems like a cute fluffy read, perfect for summer. So let’s check the covers out:

Book Traveling Thursdays: A book world I would like to live in

Every week, Danielle (from Danielle’s Book Blog) and Cátia (from TheGirlWhoReadTooMuch) host a feature called Book Traveling Thursdays on Goodreads. They give you a topic each Thursday and you choose a book that you think fits. Then comes the fun part: a cover showdown! This week’s topic is a book that has a world I would like to live in. It wasn’t hard to pick because since I read this book I’ve wanted to live in it just so I could have my own daemon: The Golden Compass / Northern Lights (His Dark Materials #1) by Philip Pullman. It’s got parallel worlds, amazing creatures, and magic everywhere! So let’s check the covers out plus a look at my daemon and a quiz you can take to know yours:

Book Traveling Thursdays: A book I wished I had read in my childhood

Every week, Danielle (from Danielle’s Book Blog) and Cátia (from TheGirlWhoReadTooMuch) host a feature called Book Traveling Thursdays on Goodreads. They give you a topic each Thursday and you choose a book that you think fits. Then comes the fun part: a cover showdown! You post the original cover, the cover from your country (which I won’t be doing most of the times because the books aren’t published here), and then your favorite and least favorite cover from any edition around the world.

As June 1st was the International Children’s Day, this week’s topic is a book I would read in my childhood if I could go back in time. I went with The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1) by Rick Riordan because I finally read the series this year and I kept thinking how much I would have liked it as a kid. Reading it at 23 was still fun, but I know that as a kid I would have enjoyed it a lot more. So let’s check the covers out:
