Tome Topple Readathon TBR

Sam from Thoughts on Tomes is hosting the first ever Tome Topple Readathon from June 5th to June 19th. The Readathon consists in reading big books (500+ pages) and reading as many pages as possible. The challenge is tackling those books that we are sometimes afraid to pick up because they’re really long. Today (June 4th) is the last day to sign up if you want to participate in an international giveaway of a 500+ book. You don’t have to sign up to participate in the readathon, that’s just for the giveaway.

To make things even more fun, Sam has created some challenges that you can try to accomplish if you want, although it’s not mandatory. Keep in mind that you can pick something that fits more than one challenge.

  1. Read more than one big book.
  2. Take a graphic novel break.
  3. Read a tome that is part of a series.
  4. Read over 500 pages in one week.
  5. Read an adult novel.

I decided to join in and here’s the list of books I’m hoping to get through:

1. Night Film by Marisha Pessl

10112885

| Add in Goodreads |

Total pages: 602 | I totally stole the idea of reading this to Lauren @Wonderless Reviews because it’s been on my radar for quite some time and when I saw she added it to her possible TBR I thought it would be perfect!

2. The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell

18949650
| Add to Goodreads |

Total pages: 595 | It’s been on my TBR for quite a while and I always find it too daunting too pick up. This could be the perfect time. Also, it’s adult fantasy, so it fits a challenge.

3. The Circle by Sara B. Elfgren & Mats Strandberg

16101193
| Add to Goodreads |

Total pages: 608 | With this one I could tackle the ‘tome in a series’ challenge, as it is part of a trilogy.

4. Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

19351043
| Add to Goodreads |

For my graphic novel break I decided to finally read Nimona. I’m very excited because I’ve not read a graphic novel in soooo long and this one looks pretty good. It also helps that I’ve heard great things about it.

So far, that’s what I’m planning on reading. I’ll try my best to pick as many of these books as possible, but I know that might be hard. Let’s hope for the best! I’ll be constantly updating my status on the challenge through Twitter with the hashtag #TomeTopple and posting my results here on the blog at the end of the readathon. You can follow me on Twitter here:

    1. You should definitely give one a go. They are actually great for reading slumps! I haven’t read many though because they’re not sold here or they’re too expensive.
